The College Planning Process
It is never too early to start planning for a college education. Dr. Sakharov specializes in a comprehensive approach, intensive advisement, and working through last minute decisions.
Dr. Sakharov begins with an interview to discuss grades, interests, goals, and how to finance a college education. Next, she works with the student to develop a personal portfolio, which distinguishes the applicant in the competitive admission process. Effective SAT and ACT preparation is part of the overall program.
Through complete analysis of extracurricular activities and interests and of PSAT and SAT scores, Dr. Sakharov assists the students and parents to target colleges, select summer programs and internships, research scholarships, organize a financial plan, initiate contact with colleges, and prepare for interviews.
Dr. Sakharov's college planning program guides the student through the entire application process, including the writing of a compelling personal statement or essay.
Students with special needs, such as learning disabilities, also thrive and succeed in this program.
